Dr. Steve DeMeester is a well-known thoracic and cardiac surgeon in Portland, Oregon. He received his medical diploma from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine in 1987. After getting his medical degree, he did an internship at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Dr. DeMeester completed his medical education with a residency in general surgery at the University of Michigan Hospitals and Health Centers, a fellowship in thoracic surgery at Washington University - Barnes-Jewish Hospital and another fellowship in thoracic surgery at St. Louis Children's Hospital. He is certified by the American Board in surgery, thoracic and cardiac surgery.
