Dr. Ona Peterson, board certified in Anatomic, Clinical and Pediatric Pathology, received her degree from the University of Colorado School of Medicine. She completed her residency at Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center, which was followed by two fellowship programs, at Mount Sinai Hospital (in pediatric pathology) and at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Guttman Diagnostic Center (in surgical pathology). With a remarkable career in medicine of over 40 years, Dr. Peterson is the President of the Society for Pediatric Pathology, and she is also a member of the College of American Pathologists, the Jefferson County Medical Society and the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology. Dr. Ona Peterson is an internationally recognized author as well. At the time, she is affiliated with the University of Alabama Hospital.
