Dr. James Kirklin graduated from Harvard Medical School and completed his residencies in general surgery and cardiothoracic surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital. He was also a chief resident at Children’s Hospital, Boston, Massachusetts and University of Alabama, Birmingham. He is a board-certified thoracic and cardiac surgeon and currently practices at University of Alabama Hospital. Dr. Kirklin has contributed to three research papers and is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, American College of Surgeons, CTS Net, and International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation.
