Dr. Bonomi is a Professor of Medical Oncology and Internal Medicine at the Rush University Cancer Center, and he specializes in thoracic surgery and oncology, mainly mesothelioma. He graduated from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago in 1970. Dr. Bonomi completed his residency at the Geisinger Medical Center and his fellowship was completed at the Rush University Cancer Center. With over 150 works published, Dr. Philip Bonomi is considered an expert when it comes to mesothelioma diagnosis and treatment, and as many others in his field, he focuses on minimally invasive interventions to remove cancerous tissue. He is a member of multiple health organizations such as the American Society of Clinical Oncology. Dr. Bonomi received numerous awards for his outstanding activity, some of them are: America's Top Doctors for Cancer, the Patient's Choice Award, America's Top Doctors, and the Compassionate Doctor Recognition. Dr. Philip Bonomi has been significantly active in the research field where he published more than 150 studies. Some of the topics he covered are neoadjuvant chemoradiation therapy for stage III, non-small cell lung cancer and palliative split-course thoracic chemoradiotherapy in non-small cell lung cancer. Moreover, he has been invited to lecture for numerous national and international symposiums. Dr. Bonomi is currently practicing at the Rush University Medical Center and the Rush Oak Park Hospital - Emergency Department.
