    Specializing in surgical oncology, Dr. Sugarbaker was a medical student at Cornell University Medical College. He graduated from the Peter Bent Brigham and Women’s Hospital Surgery as a resident. Dr. Paul Sugarbaker is currently holding the title of Director of Surgical Oncology Washington Cancer Institute, a title he has been holding since 1989. Dr. Sugarbaker has been developing new techniques for peritoneal mesothelioma since the ‘80s and many of these techniques are still being used today. He published more than 780 works, including books and peer reviewed articles in well established medical journals. Dr. Sugarbaker is well known for his heated chemotherapy and cytoreductive surgery method of treating peritoneal mesothelioma.
