Dr. Elaine Tseng is a thoracic and cardiac surgeon based in San Francisco, California. She has been in practice for the past 24 years. Dr. Tseng graduated from the medical school of Harvard University. She had an internship and a residency stage at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, followed by a fellowship at the same institution and another fellowship at the Lenox Hill Hospital, New York. Dr. Tseng is a board-certified specialist in surgery and thoracic surgery. She is also a member of the American Heart Association, the Association of Women Surgeons, the American Medical Association, and the Association of Women in Thoracic Surgery. She received several awards during her career including the George D. Zeidema Surgery Award, the Hawley H. Seiler MD Award, and the Vincent L. Gott Cardiac Surgery Award. Dr. Tseng contributed to a long list of published studies. Some of the clinical areas she helped research are biomechanics of failed pulmonary autografts, suture forces for the closure of transapical transcatheter aortic valve replacement, valve-in-valve implantation, blood cells damage in aortic valve stenosis, ascending thoracic aortic aneurysm.
