Dr. Michele Carbone is the director for the University of Hawaii Cancer Center, and has completed his studies at the Sapienza University in Rome, where he received a PhD in pathology. After that, Dr. Carbone moved to the United States where he was awarded the National Institutes of Health Fogarty Fellowship. For some years Dr. Michele Carbone practiced as a teacher for the University of Chicago, before accepting his current position in 2006. With a very different approach, Dr. Carbone specializes in the pathology of mesothelioma and ways to treat this disease more effectively. As a pathologist, Dr. Carbone earned many accolades and has published dozens of articles on the matter, helping the medical community in the fight against mesothelioma.
