    An Associate Professor of Surgery in the Thoracic Surgery Department of the Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute, Dr. Steliga is a specialist in the field of mesothelioma and diseases that attack the thoracic area. In 1997 Dr. Matthew Steliga completed the courses of the Northwestern University in Evanston, and graduated from the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee four years later. He was a resident at the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center in Memphis and completed a fellowship at the Texas Heart Institute in Houston. Dr. Steliga specializes in thoracic oncology, which translates into several types of lung cancer, mainly mesothelioma, a very dangerous and aggressive type of lung cancer.
