TroVax, the name of this vaccine, is based on immunotherapy and the team says that they are pretty close to releasing it to the public market, but further testing will continue to make sure that the drug is working. Several tests have shown that TroVax is able to help the immune system fight the disease, but the team is still looking for mesothelioma patients that want to give the vaccine a try. They say that it does not have any harmful effects and the worst case scenario would be that it does not help at all.
The news quickly spread around the world and a lot of scientists are interested in this vaccine and maybe helping to increase its’ effectiveness. This has helped the team in Cardiff to set the date for their trial later this year hoping that by then the product is stable and it can actually help some people.
