Dr. Thomas L. Bauer is an adjunct assistant professor of the University of Delaware, Department of Biological Sciences. He is also a thoracic surgeon at the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center, Christiana Care Health Services and a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Thomas Jefferson University. He is interested in the use of advanced computer aided 3D imaging of the chest cavity and its organs, including the lungs, utilizing the "CAVE" at the Delaware Biotechnology Institute.

He is also collaborating with biologists and genetics faculty at the University of Delaware to investigate DNA damage repair pathways and their role in augmenting cell death with chemotherapy. He graduated from the Thomas Jefferson University and since then has been a very active mesothelioma doctor.
