Dr. Dong M. Shin, M.D is a mesothelioma specialist. He received medical degree from Yonsei University, College of Medicine in Seoul, Korea. He finished his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Cook County Hospital, Chicago, Illinois. He completed his fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology from the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Houston. He is a Fellow of the American Society of Head and Neck Surgery, a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, the American Society of Clinical Oncology and an active member of the American Association for Cancer Research. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology.

Dr. Shin joined the Winship Cancer Institute at Emory University as Professor of Hematology and Oncology, Pharmacology, Otolaryngology, and Medicine. He is the Associate Director of Academic Development, Winship Cancer Institute.

Dr. Shin's clinical interests are in the treatment and prevention of mesothelioma, neck and head cancer, thymoma and lung cancer. He is received numerous awards and author of many articles, books and book chapters. His laboratory research is mainly focused on the medicine related to aero digestive biology and to the neck, head and lung cancer. He is a member of numerous organizations. He is an award winning physician with a long list of awards in his credit collected throughout nearly two decades.
