The MCG Cancer Center is home to all those who are concerned about providing relief to cancer patients; among these, we find leading scientists, translational researchers and clinical researchers working hard to make discoveries and addressing issues of human trials. The most promising therapies are made available to patients in the initial stages of the disease in the form of Phase I and Phase II clinical trials.

The center encourages participation and inputs from medical professionals in other areas such as Augusta, Savannah, Athens, Statesboro, Columbus, Albany, Brunswick and Valdosta, Georgia, and Aiken and Columbia, South Carolina, by forming alliances with them for patient participation from those regions.

The center serves its dedication to the cause of new cancer cures through its biorepository, the MCG Tumor Tissue and Serum Repository. It is believed that safe and effective treatments can be secured faster with the help of studies on banked tissue. Combined with availability of a host of Distinguished Cancer Scholars from allied centers like University of Georgia, the MCG is undoubtedly a Center of Excellence that offers much hope to mesothelioma and other cancer patients in the form of new, emerging forms of treatment.
